Efrati the Medal of Courage :
"…Captain Avner Efrati organized
the soldiers fighting, and he himself was standing in a position, for many
hours, to
encourage the people and help
them. Despite the difficult shot, he refused evacuation.
changed positions even
when he was injured himself in a position, within a few meters from the
Egyptian forces.
As he protected his people he
was injured again and killed. This prevented the penetration of the
Egyptian forces for hours.
