Israeli police, working with British officers, arrested Bolondi Wednesday March 16 , 2005 in connection with the attempt to rob money from the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc., police in Israel said in a statement. British police foiled a high-tech attempt to steal millions of pounds from a Japanese bank's London offices by accessing its computer system and making money transfers, authorities said Thursday. Bolondi was released on bail to home arrest in March 22 , 2005. Israeli and UK Cyber Crime Units in March 21 , 2005 arrested an Israeli man Aharon Abu Hamra suspected of being involved in an attempt to defraud the London branch of the Japanese Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, a case British police called "one of the largest bank robbery attempts ever in the U.K.". Aharon Abu Hamra is a 35-year-old resident of Tel Aviv . Aharon Abu Hamra is suspected of mediating between Yaron Bolondi, and the British counterparts in the fraud. According to cyber cops, Aharon Abu Hamra offered Bolondi to serve as a straw man in Israel in order to launder approximatley 20 million euro gained from the Japanese bank, from which he was supposed to receive a hefty commission. شرطة لندن تحبط أكبر محاولة لسرقة بنك في بريطانيا

قالت شرطة لندن إنها أحبطت واحدة من أكبر المحاولات لسرقة بنك في بريطانيا.

وكشفت الشرطة أن الخطة التي وضعها اللصوص كانت ترمي إلى سرقة 220 مليون جنيه استرليني (حوالي 423 مليون دولار) من بنك سوميتومو ميتسوي الياباني.

ويعتقد أن خبراء في الكومبيوتر حاولوا تحويل الأموال إليكترونيا بعد اختراق نظام الكومبيوتر الخاص بالبنك.

وقد ألقت الشرطة الإسرائيلية القبض على رجل، بعد أن كشفت وحدة الجرائم المتقدمة في بريطانيا تفاصيل الخطة.

ويتعاون أعضاء هذه الوحدة الخاصة في الشرطة البريطانية مع الشرطة في إسرائيل.

وكان التحقيق قد بدأ في أكتوبر/ تشرين الأول الماضي بعد اكتشاف أن محترفين في اختراق أنظمة الكومبيوتر قد تمكنوا من النفاذ إلى نظام الكومبيوتر الخاص ببنك سوميتومو ميتسوي الياباني في لندن.

وقد أمكن لهم اختراق النظام عن طريق برنامج من برامج الكومبيوتر يتيح لهم تعقب كل ضغطة على أحد أزرار الكومبيوتر.
